Its not many places where you can find pampering, a snack, a chat over coffee, a glass of vino and a food shop all under the same roof!

I think you will find a visit to the small village of Twyford where all of the above facilities, a cafe, a licensed restaurant (The Bean Below), a food store, a hair and beauty salon plus the post office, are situated in The Post Office Stores well worth the trip. The food store has an interesting and well chosen selection of produce including a wine selection. No need to go anywhere else, a truly unique set up!

Three of us called in for a snack lunch and a look around, choosing to eat outside under the spreading willow tree. It's a pretty setting with bamboos and a water feature. The evening menu looks interesting with more substantial meals. At the moment they have a singer on Thursday evenings so perhaps best to reserve a table as I believe it's a popular venue.

We chose from the blackboard daily specials - Chicken, bacon & avocado salad, Butterfly mackerel, salsa and new potatoes and Salmon fillet on a bed of spinach with watercress sauce, salad and new potatoes. All delicious. There were various sandwiches and jacket potatoes on the menu so plenty of choices to suit all tastes. The homemade cakes and biscuits looked so good we  purchased  a small selection to bring home to our lonely husbands for their afternoon tea!!

Yes, they also do a Take-Away service  for  baguettes, cakes etc.  Meat, fish and vegetables are all local Hampshire produce.  Prices range from £6.00 - £11.95 for light lunchtime snacks.  We only had soft drinks and coffees.  Very enjoyable.
