As I was on a break I wasn't going to review The Bay View Inn but we enjoyed the food so much I felt duty bound to tell you about it!  We were staying in N. Devon but as my Greek husband has never been to Cornwall decided to pop over the "border" to visit Bude.  References on the menu hinted that the chef was Greek, he is and came out to have an animated chat!  The waitress was also very friendly but the barman who had to take the food order seemed, to put it politely, rather confused.  (You order and pay for your food at the bar).  This place is obviously popular with locals as the bar was busy with folks lounging around reading newspapers and many seemed to know each other.  My choice, on left, was a warm chicken and bacon salad with tons of avocado, SM chose a mushroom and goats cheese concoction.... you can tell I didn't save the menu for detailed descriptions.  They were plentiful portions and tasted delicious.  The other choices were soup of the day, very thick & filling and served with crusty bread, and scallops also very enjoyable.  Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
