This is a traditional Kentish pub, low beams, inglenook fireplace and converted stable restaurant. Booking is essential - particularly on a Sunday. We visited this pub around 3pm on Sunday and the roast was finished - fortunately this did not bother any of our party - just goes to show how popular this place is!
We all had starters - 3 leek and potato soup, 1 salmon terrine and 1 deep fried brie, all excellent and served with hot rolls.
For main course I had ham (off the bone) and egg on top of a portion of potato hash. Two had large, really meaty, burgers in buns with chips and salad. Two had chicken wraps, along with salad and chips. Last choice was sausages with potato & leek mash. All delicious!
For pudding several of us had enormous sundaes of what tasted like homemade ice cream, gorgeous flavours especially the blackcurrant.
