Visited on a Monday, 5 adults and 2 children. First impressions of The Alice Lisle were really good. A lovely setting by a lake with a children's place space but a separate garden area for adults only!
Unfortunately there were no scampi for the children so they chose " Good Old Cod 'n' Chips" instead. They found the batter quite stodgy. I was delighted to find on the specials board Hampshire diced goat served "Mongolian Style". It was my first taste of goat and it was delicious. The Skillet of Fish Dauphinoise was under seasoned and the potato topping slightly underdone. The Home made Chicken Pie was unusual as it contained rice! The Chargrilled 10ozs Gammon Steak was pronounced perfect.
We had no wine but with drinks the total cost was £78.
