We were 5 celebrating yet another Birthday!  Fortunately Friday 6th was a lovely day so we parked in Chesil Car Park for only £2.80 and walked all the way up the main street to Jewry Street.  We were warmly welcomed and found a busy atmosphere, booking required especially as their Dine with Wine Menu is obviously so popular.  Lunch - £11.35 for two courses, £13.80 for three including a 175ml glass of Domaine St Jean Conques VDP d'Oc or Chateau St Chinan Merlot VDP d'Oc.  The menu...........

Starters - Soupe aux panair - parsnip soup, honey &lemon dressing.
Risotto de jarret fume - smoked ham hock & pea risotto
Pissaladiere - onion tart, mustard dressing

Main -     Saucisse de porc au poivre - pork & black pepper sausage (3) puree potatoes
Fillet de grondin, sauce bouillabaisse - filet of Gurnard, bouillabaisse sauce, olive mash
Tagine Marocaine - Moroccan slow cooked pulses, almond & coriander

Puds -     Rhubarbe poche, terrine de biscuit de Savoie - poached rhubarb & Savoie biscuit terrine
Delice au chocolat blanc - white chocolate and banana delice
Pudding au caramel - sticky toffee pudding, vanilla ice cream

We sampled all the choices except 2 of the puds, the rhubarbe and the delice au chocolat.   Well served, good portion sizes and all very delicious.  Our only extras were coffees at £1.90 and service charge.  We were served by the charming Mademoiselle Estelle, who along with the rest of the staff, was polite, very well trained and very knowledgeable.  A really enjoyable lunch was had by all and such good value for money!
